I have a blog!

I had grand visions when I created this blog. I planned to write about the intersection of sex and art in film. I would review serious films with explicit sexual themes. I compiled a Netflix queue currently topped by Spanking the Monkey, The Brown Bunny, Consulting Adults, Where the Truth Lies, and Last Tango in Paris. Basically, a combination of notorious indie movies, iconic films and studio thrillers made for adults dealing with sex. These are movies middle aged married couples should hire babysitters to see in theaters. The reviews would be both critical and practical. They would analyze the films and inform you about what these films are really about so you do not have to relay on vague mainstream descriptions. I planned to start with the king of this genre: Stanley Kubric’s Eyes Wide Shut.

I have largely abandoned this plan. This blog will still feature a discussion of sex and art. But it will be a more traditional blog: a personal, on-going, semi-stream of consciousness narrative dealing with whatever’s on mind rather than a polished review of one or two films. Mostly, though, it’s a long “About the Author” feature.

I am just a couple of last proofreads away from submitting my first erotic story to the Erotic Mind-Control Story Archive (mcstories.com). I have been a loyal reader of that site since 2000, when I discovered it back in my freshman dorm. The Sunday updates have long been a crucial part of my weekend wind down routine.

I really like to write. Since college, I have written two novels, a screenplay and several short stories. None of them have even been published. Part of the reason I finally focused on writing an erotic story is because the avenue to publication was much clearer. I am pretty happy with my first completed erotic story. I have drafted all seven parts and am currently in revisions. But the first two chapters are now ready to go. So look for “Long Red Nails” by Sean Flynn at mcstories.com.

This blog also exists to encourage readers to email me with comments, suggestions or criticisms on my stories. The truth is, though I have read hundreds of erotic mind control stories, I have only once commented to an author, and that was last week. I thought my chances of receiving feedback would increase if readers saw me as a real person and not some anonymous Internet alias.

Sean Flynn is an alias. It’s the name of a character from my second novel. That novel aims to be what I wanted to write about: a serious piece of art dealing with explicit sexual themes. It’s about an entrepreneur who invents the first practical virtual sex. It follows the political, social, economic, moral and legal implications of that invention. I am not sure if it’s any good as a novel, but I may post some chapters of it on here eventually.

Anyways, I should get back to the About Me part of this posting. I am young attorney who recently got caught in the wave of layoffs rippling through big law firms. It has always been my dream to work in the adult entertainment industry. I am an avid poker player, trivia player and film buff. I am also a loyal reader of The Economist so if you do not want to talk about sex, feel free to email me about Angela Merkel’s recent election, the fate of Gordon Brown, or gas finds in Brazil. I am mature, intelligent and very close with my family. I believe that anything that goes on between consenting adults should be legal and respected. And I believe having a close, non-exclusive network of friends/sexual partners is a happier and healthier approach than traditional monogamy.

Thank you for reading. Next post I plan to cover Eyes Wide Shut, Sleeping Dogs Lie, and The Brown Bunny. Or in fewer words, Orgies, dogs and blowjobs.

  1. You're quite right; this blog increases your chances of feedback quite substantially. I just finished Long Red Nails (thoroughly enjoyed it, even if the ending was a bit weak) and wouldn't have even thought of offering feedback if not for this blog.

I'm enjoying the blog, too. I look forward to reading your updates!
